Terms of Service

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Noirdoc macOS application ("App"), provided by Nextaim GmbH, Steinerstraße 15, 81369 München, Germany ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

2. License Grant

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal or commercial purposes. The App is currently provided free of charge during the beta period. We reserve the right to introduce paid features or licensing in the future, with prior notice.

3. Restrictions

You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the App
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose

4. Updates & Support

We may release updates to the App at our discretion. Updates may include bug fixes, new features, or changes to existing functionality. Support is provided via email on a reasonable-efforts basis.

5. Anonymization Results

The App uses automated methods including pattern matching, named entity recognition, and AI-based analysis to detect personal data in documents. While we strive for accuracy, anonymization results may not be 100% complete or accurate. You are responsible for reviewing the output before sharing any documents. We do not guarantee that all personal data will be detected or removed.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, and documentation, is owned by Nextaim GmbH and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the App.

7. System Requirements

The App requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later and a Mac with Apple chip (M1 or later). We do not guarantee compatibility with other configurations.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" during the beta period, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Nextaim GmbH shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the App. This includes, but is not limited to, damages resulting from incomplete anonymization of documents.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, you must delete all copies of the App.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Munich, Germany.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
